Yes I just reached 160 cp. I don't have materials because I was a vet level 7 pve player and I was not in the area where voidstone or rubedite were. I've been crafting sets for other players using my materials and helping others level up starter characters in the game. Rubedite ore is 20k per 200, and I'm not a sorcerer, I'm a healer.

TexTiger. • 4 yr. ago. I actually did a whole spreadsheet on every raw mat, the potential value of the results, and if selling or refining was the better option. In most instances, refining will get you more in value than selling. Where it's better to sell the raw is platinum dust, rubedite ore, ruby ash, and some of the level 1 mats.
What are some good zones for farming rubedite? You don't have to tell me where you farm it, unless you're feeling generous, because i know how that crap needs to be kept a secret. Of all the places to farm rubedite in the game, Old Orsinium would not be in the top half of places I would pick. Hides I can definitely see with all the harpies and bears in the first part of the dungeon ... not sure if the OP is trying to steer the conversation away from this farming spot by injecting rubedite into the reply posts.

Rubedite Ore is a dark red ore found in any zone. When mined, a node yields three to four samples of the raw material, Rubedite Ore. Once ten ore samples are collected, they can be refined into seven to ten Rubedite Ingots. Rubedite ingots are used for crafting pieces of heavy Rubedite Armor and weapons at any blacksmithing station.
The only right implementation from ZOS on this would have been to add completely new node spawn points for this new resource, which they could make as common or rare as they like. Instead they went the incredibly daft and lazy route of simply turning X% of their ore nodes into jewelry nodes instead.
I personally keep all my mats since I have a couple characters, but if you aren't keeping your other mats (like ancestor silk) you may be able able to find ppl in area chat to trade ancestor silk, rubedite ore, or ruby ash for rubedo leather as well. Incorrect. Half of nodes are based on character/champion level, half of nodes are based on skill point investment in the first crafting passive for that line. A level 50 character with 10/10 in the metalworking passive on an account with >= 160 champion points will always see rubedite ore.
Enough to sustain you for a few months. I got around 5000 rubedite, ancestor silk, etc before my subscription ended for the last time, and those are yet to run out for me hundreds of hours later. Get the 8 storage chests in your house. 1 from leveling up, 7 from the master writ merchant Rolis Hlaalu in your alliance capital.
I have refined thousands upon thousands of various ore, but the larger batches have mainly been either rubedite or iron. I have done it in a batch of about 15,000 all at once as well as just 4,000 or 2,000 or even just 400 and my long term rate is about 5 tempers for every 1000 refined which is the .5% that Mallagar states.

Here you can see a character mining a Rubedite Ore which contained 3 Rubedite Ore, a Grain of Pearl Sand and a Platinum Dust in it. Rarely you can also find non blacksmithing related items in an ore that are used for other purposes, in this case here Platinum Dust which is used for Jewelry Crafting whereas the Grain of Pearl Sand which is part of the Order of the Hour Style.
200 rubedite ore is 20 refinements. ^ 20 = ~36% That is, more than a 1 in 3 chance that you will get no Alloy from refining 200 rubedite. Even though the return rate is 1 per 200 ore. 400 rubedite ore is 40 refinements. ^ 40 = ~13% So you had about a 13% of not getting an Alloy 40 times in a row. More than 1 in 8.
But here's an idea... go farm Rubedite ore in Wrothgar, then refine it. You might get lucky.
